This was a series of vital collaborations in developing our style and experimenting with our versatility.

CyberCity 2022

At the iconic hidden venue BookClub at it’s first location, all this experience in the music underground came to a head with CyberCity. A genre bending, futuristic, cyber inspired show promoted with a bold visual campaign. This was the first major win for RatsAlley where we really made a mark on the city and brought the dream to reality. We had lines out the door, memories made, and iconic performances.

The Seed Sprouts 2023 - 2025

RatsAlley really started to come into reality after a few ambitious big projects that proved RatsAlley as a collaborative project instead of a one man band. The first major development was the film SPLAT. We assembled a team of renegades, filmmakers, artists, punks, and stoners to create a cult classic.

SPLAT

Two street artists run into a crazy cameraman in an abandoned silo. With a nod to cult classics like SLC Punk and The Blair Witch Project, this film was created without a script, director, or predefined storyline. The entire project was shot on a shoestring budget of $600, using improvisation and real people as extras to blur the line between reality and fiction.

We screened it in front of live audiences in June 2024 at Sweet Void Cinema.

Our audience mostly consisted of our friends, family, and peers like Solpheria, Tyrel and Ben from Real Ones, Mike DFG, Seye from Intrvert Clothing, and Sean and Bernie from Get Up Magazine. To our surprise, there was one pair of friends who were just visiting Chicago when they happened to see one of our posters in Logan Square and decided to take a chance and witness the screening for themselves.

Some reported that they “felt like crying the whole time” and the deeply resonated with the film’s depiction of modern youth.

THE FULL MOON CHILL SESH

This was a tradition that began in August 2024. The tradition is simple. Every full moon, we gather our community with the intentions of simply enjoying life. This tradition is aimed specifically at Young Adults of the New Millenia, people born between 1995 - 2005. It is hard for us to find each other in the wild, so this tradition gives us an opportunity once a month to bond and come together.

It’s kind of a mix of a kickback, cookout, open mic, and art jam.
